The best activities in Palma centre
Are you coming on a holiday to the island and are looking for the best activities in Palma city? Well, not t worry then, in today’s post we’re going to tell you all about some of the top activities in the centre of the capital so that boredom isn’t even a possibility (if it ever was in the first place). Let’s go!
A pleasant bike ride
The bicycle has become one of the favourite transport methods in the capital of Majorca, and it’s no wonder since it’s an easy, quick and eco-friendly way of travelling through the beautiful Mediterranean city. Don’t you think? You’ll find many places and stores to rent out a bike in Palma, from the typical classic bicycle to mountain bikes. On a side note, instead of renting one at a store, you can also use the local “BiciPalma” service. With a bike you’ll be able to explore Palma at your own pace and freedom, get lost in its old streets, cycle from one monument to the next, stop at a cute local café or bar that’s caught your attention or, who knows, maybe some fancy lifestyle shop with a lot of charm.
Even so, if you prefer moving around a little faster or head a little outside the city centre of Palma, you can also rent out an electric motorbike. You can hire these fun motorbikes, which are also environmentally friendly, directly at the popular Purohotel, for instance.
Are you partial to a mystery? Whether it’s summer, autumn or winter, escape rooms are fun and trendy, and make for an awesome day out anytime. Plus, there are mystery rooms for just everyone! A themed room simulating a pirate boat, set in the ancient Egypt, the jungle or even onboard a old western train. Intrigued?
It’s a super fun game filled with adventure and logic where one is locked in a themed room of their choice for about 1 hour. The goal is to escape the room before time runs out! How? Using and solving the clues and logic games hidden inside the room. Time goes by and adrenaline doesn’t stop. You can enjoy this activity in Palma as a group of 2 or up to 6 people, generally. There are numerous escape rooms in the city centre, so you’ve got plenty to choose from. Without a doubt, this is one of the best activities in Palma centre!
Want to escape the heat for a few hours? Then we surely encourage you to go gallery hopping around Palma. As we’ve mentioned on other posts, the city of Palma is filled with precious art galleries and exhibition spaces. Make sure you wake up early, enjoy a heart breakfast at an emblematic café such as CA’n Joan de S’Aigo, and make your way to the Palma art galleries. You can start your artsy route at the famous Sant Feliu street, a must-see in Majorca!
Paddle Surf in Ciudad Jardín
Seeing as it’s summer and the heat is at its peak, everything calls for a beach day and good old swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Plus, if we can also do some exercise and have fun at the same time, what more do we need?! If you have never tried Paddle Surf (or SUP), or even if you have and already love it, you can enjoy the sport right in Ciudad Jardín or Playa de Palma beach.
Additionally, there are numerous rental stores along the bay where you can hire the paddle surf equipment and receive a small lesson if you do need one. However, if you’re not that into Paddle Surf, don’t worry. Most of those same rental stores also offer other sports equipment and activities such as windsurfing, surf or kayaking.
